Eco Meeting
30 May 2012

This Wednesday the ECO CLUB met and discussed the following:
  • Welcome School Council
    • The school council has nominated four members to join the eco club and to make better links between us. They will feed back to the School council of things we are trying to do and what are targets are. Hopefully we can help each other!!

  • Blog
    • The eco club were introduced to the blog that they had asked for, replacing the internet page on the school's home page. It can be found under the 'student links' section on the NHS homepage.
    • A number of learners suggested that they would like to write things onto the blog themselves. This will be investigated asap.
    • Learners will also be showing the blog to their classmates during TfL.

  • Raised bed project
    • We checked on the progress of the raised veggie bed. The seedlings looked a bit over whelmed by the recent hot spell. They were very grateful for the eco club watering them!!

  • AOB
    • None noted.
Eco and out.

Green fingered Eco Club

Fruit and Veg

On Wednesday 16th May, the Eco Club took advantage of some fine Welsh weather and planted some of our seedlings that we have sowed two weeks before!!! All together we planted Strawberry plants, Sunflower seedlings, Lettuce, Cabbage, and lots and lots of bulbs!

We also partially cleared our 'Natural Raised Bed' to encourage a diverse range of plants and flowers. Over the next few weeks we will be busy identify what species we have in the raised beds and monitoring them carefully.
